Physical Water Conditioning - The Solution.

How Physical Water Conditioning Works

Calcium Carbonate (CaCO3) molecules solidify instantly from their dissolved state when they come into contact with any "foreign" surface. They grow onto one another along the surface in every direction. Because of their tree-like shape (as viewed under a microscope) they are called "dendritic" crystals. (Fig.1) They constitute the beginning of the formation of lime scale.

Through Physical Conditioning, the bonds between the H20 molecules have been broken. Foreign particles entrapped by the water molecules become exposed to the open solution. Their surfaces become available as nucleation points for the nearby dissolved CaCO3 molecules. The calcium molecules cluster together to form a microscopic "solid" seed crystal around this nucleation point.

All dissolved CaCO3 molecules in the vicinity of the seed crystal eventually come into contact with the newly forming surface. They solidify there in radial and concentric patterns, finally forming a free floating disk-shaped crystal (Fig.2) that no longer has an affinity for other hard surfaces with which it comes into contact.

Lime scale deposit does not occur at the container walls any more. Further, the Physically conditioned water is capable of dissolving previously deposited scale.
